Environmental and Health Protection Inspector
Östersund Municipality is looking for an engaged and knowledgeable Environmental and Health Protection Inspector who wants to help shape a sustainable future in the municipality. Job Responsibilities
In the role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector, you will work with supervision and processing of cases according to the Environmental Code with a focus on health protection. Your work will play a central role in health protection for our citizens and contribute to creating safe and healthy environments.
- Supervision according to the provisions of the Environmental Code primarily in health protection activities.
- Process and investigate cases within the health protection area such as complaints, notification cases, and referrals.
- Provide advice and information to the public and to businesses.
- Collaborate with other authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the municipality's internal processes within environmental and health protection.
The department continuously works with business development, which means that ideas for efficiencies and improvements are continuously requested and implemented. The work also involves active participation in business planning, which requires engagement and good environmental monitoring. The working method provides good opportunities to influence the implementation of supervision.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in processing and supervision work within the area of the Environmental Code. You have:
- Relevant academic education in the field of environmental and health protection, such as Environmental and Health Protection Inspector or equivalent.
- Experience in supervision and processing within the area of the Environmental Code with a focus on health protection.
- Familiarity with the Environmental Code and knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act.
- Experience in housing supervision is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Good service and collaboration skills.
A valid driver's license is required – we have a car pool. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.
