Female youth coach sought for a young person in their early teens

Geography: Västerås, Surahammar, Hallstahammar, Köping.

Scope: 1 session per week of 3-4 hours each, according to an agreed schedule.

Weekdays after the youth's school hours, but weekends may also be relevant. The scope may be extended during the summer.

The Assignment

We are looking for a female youth coach aged 20-30 for an assignment in one of our family homes in Hallstahammar municipality, Västmanland County. The purpose of the assignment is to serve as a safe adult role model and act as a bridge between the placed youth and the family home, as well as to provide support at certain times of the day as outlined below. The support is intended to be provided outside the family home primarily. The youth coach will be part of a team consisting of the family home, social services, and family home consultant. As a youth coach, you will receive guidance and support in your assignment from the family home consultant.

• Guide the youth in making wise decisions
• Ensure health-promoting activities
• Some contact with the school
• Some documentation
• Collaboration with the family home, social services, school, and family home consultant

Requirements

• You live in Hallstahammar, Västerås, Surahammar, or Köping and surrounding areas - no compensation for travel time to and from meetings.
• The scope of the assignment makes it important to be flexible with working hours; the schedule will be set continuously in consultation with the youth, family home, and consultant.
• You should be prepared to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• You are experienced in working with youth and have documented experience with good references.
• You are studying a higher education program in social work or have a completed degree.
