Nephrology Department Mälarsjukhuset, Eskilstuna
About Us
The Nephrology Department provides both acute and planned care. Specialist doctors are associated with the operation. As a nurse in the department, you are offered a varied, developing, and educational job. We also have beds for general medicine patients. The department has 14 beds divided into two care teams.
Adjacent to the department is a day care team where we together develop the future of day care. The department has two care leaders who act as mentors for less experienced nurses and work with quality development. One of our care leaders has 20 years of experience in nephrology, which is a great support for newer nurses.
We work with a nursing wheel and plan training, lectures, and group discussions based on different areas each month. The work is led by the care leaders and the quality responsible nursing assistant. Our competent nursing assistants come from different backgrounds and provide good support for newly graduated nurses.
Josefine is our discharge coordinator and takes care of contact with the municipality, Link, and is very helpful to the nurses before discharges.
For us, a good work environment is essential, and we constantly work on good communication, good cooperation, and encourage individual development based on personal interests. We are a fine mix of people from different countries, with different backgrounds and ages. Thanks to this, we have built a good collaboration with a sense of responsibility for patients as well as humor and joy in daily work. We welcome everyone who shares our values to come and enrich our team.
We encourage all employees to participate in improvement work, big or small, that is continuously ongoing in our department. Our goal is to provide safe and secure care to our patients. The latest improvement concerns our round routines. We conduct sitting rounds at 10:45. This way, there is plenty of time to meet patients, distribute medications, participate in care, and be informed.
Your Responsibilities
Your work includes nursing, medication management, documentation, and assessment of acutely ill patients. You should identify and meet the individual needs of the patient by leading and prioritizing the work in the team.
We offer you an orientation tailored to your skills and previous experience. The introduction of new nurses is usually 4 weeks but can be extended if necessary. We offer continuous professional development through, for example, lectures with doctors, internal training, job shadowing in other clinics within the section, and mentoring time with the care leaders.
Your Qualifications
You must be a licensed nurse. You may be a newly graduated licensed nurse. We are looking for someone who is responsible and patient-centered. You should have good teamwork skills, be flexible and engaged, and put the patient first. We would like you to be curious about your profession and passionate about developing.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
