The Water and Wastewater Department consists of about 25 employees with broad and deep expertise in water and wastewater. Here, technicians, pipe layers, engineers, and administrators work together with a common mission: to deliver safe drinking water every day and manage wastewater sustainably. We are responsible for both water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, and associated technical systems. The department is on a clear development journey where we are gradually moving towards a more structured and preventive approach. Here, there is strong engagement, a down-to-earth culture, and a desire to develop together.

The department belongs to the Growth Area within the Municipal Executive Administration, together with the departments of waste management, planning and traffic, property, learning center, culture and leisure, as well as customer center and business. The Municipal Executive Administration supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environmental Committee, and the Community Building Committee. The administration employs about 135 staff and is divided into areas of staff, building and environment, and community building and growth.

A Day as a Team Leader in the Water and Wastewater Department

As a team leader in the Water and Wastewater Department, you will be a key person in leading and developing the daily operations of our waterworks, pressure boosting stations, reservoirs, wastewater treatment plants, and pumping stations. You will plan, allocate, and follow up on the work in the organization, ensuring that both employees and processes function efficiently and safely. You report to the operations manager.

The role also includes working strategically with long-term planning, improvements, and skills development within the team.

Your Main Areas:

• Lead and plan the daily operations at waterworks and wastewater treatment plants
• Ensure that operations and maintenance are conducted according to applicable laws, agreements, and routines
• Be responsible for ensuring that work is conducted according to applicable goals and policies regarding the environment and working conditions
• Allocate resources and follow up on the budget together with the operations manager
• Drive improvement work and proactively work on employee well-being while contributing to satisfaction and development within the team
• Collaborate closely with other operations within Krokom Municipality.

Your Qualifications

Requirements

• Relevant technical education, preferably focused on water and wastewater, environmental technology, or process technology, or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer
• Knowledge of environmental legislation
• Good administrative skills and familiarity with systems
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Driving license (for manual transmission)

Meritorious

• Experience in team leadership within water and wastewater or similar technical operations

The role requires a confident and coaching leader with the ability to create engagement and participation. You have a natural ability to build relationships, foster trust, and collaborate across the organization.
