to apply for the job
We are now looking for a team leader who can assist in building a completely new support team.
My name is Mimi, I am 26 years old and live on a farm outside Norrtälje. Here I have my home, my safety, and my workplace. I have autism and
intellectual disabilities. This means that I have a great need for help and support from my surroundings. I need people around me
who are empathetic, understanding, and secure in themselves. And who can, without prestige, set aside their own values to focus on my needs during their work shift.
I have a lot of clarity inside me and a strong will about how things should be, but I constantly need support to reach my goals. My
assistants are vital to me. What is obvious to many is often a constant struggle for me. I can have difficulty understanding and seeing
variations, which makes me easily get stuck in details and struggle to move forward. Every adventure I want to embark on requires a lot from my surroundings.
Short-term and long-term planning, patience, and a strong commitment from my assistants are essential. This applies whether I am doing an activity here on the farm where I live or if I am going out for coffee in Norrtälje or on an exciting trip I have longed for.
When I cannot make myself understood, I can become frustrated and angry. I then experience a typical autistic meltdown. This means I don't really
know what is happening. I do not become physically aggressive, but I scream and may throw things. It is very scary to have outbursts, but fortunately, it doesn't happen very often now. Maybe once a month or so.
I know that my assistants are a group that helps each other. That group has a lot of fun with me. I love parties, cosplay, Japan, the whole
Nintendo world, funny clips on YouTube, and anime. I want to become a great artist.
We have a large, nice studio here where we can come up with fun activities, creativity, café evenings, cosplay, music projects, and more. On the farm, there are horses, a dog, a cat, and chickens.
You should enjoy being part of our farm, which is very creative and lively. Here, you have the opportunity to develop what you are passionate about
too! I am interested in who you are and what you like, and I want you to be personal and create a good relationship with me.
I want you to understand and be open to how autism works specifically for me. It is important to work preventively, with a clear structure,
predictability, and I really like visual support. Above all, I want you to have a creative and playful attitude. I do not like being pressured
into any mold. I don't want you to nag and stress me, but at the same time, you must be able to take space and be the engine I need.
Based on these conditions, you should have enough experience and knowledge to build a completely new team of assistants with me who help me in my daily life.
I look forward to getting to know you and hope you will enjoy being here on the farm with me and my future team.
This has been interpreted and written by Mimi's mother, who will also assist in building my team together with you.
You who are applying should have good knowledge of autism, curiosity, a desire to learn more, and to develop as a person in this work. Eight hours a day
we have double staffing, so you will work both together with someone and independently. Night shifts may occur. You also need
for this position leadership skills; taking initiative, organizing, planning, and leading are merits.
Are you a creative and solution-oriented person who stands firm when the storm rages? Can you work in a professional manner but also become
personal and engage with this girl's inner wishes?
Welcome to reach out, and we will tell you more!
