Planning Unit

The Planning Unit is part of the Community Building Administration and is responsible for the municipality's comprehensive planning, detailed planning, development activities, land management, as well as measurement, mapping, and GIS activities. As a member of the Planning Unit, you will be part of a small, tight-knit group. We support each other and have a friendly atmosphere in a beautiful work environment at Björkegrenska gården.

We are now looking for a temporary GIS Engineer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a GIS Engineer, you will work towards increased use of GIS and coordination of geographic information.

The work is done in collaboration with other units within the administration as well as with other administrations, always focusing on urban development.

Your tasks will include:

• system management
• development of our GIS systems
• analysis and visualization of geographic information
• creating web maps
• management of geodata

Currently, work is underway on a new comprehensive plan. Your work with GIS, together with our urban planners, is an important part of this.

It is important that you want to work with continuous development as the tasks are constantly changing with technological advancements.

We use products from Sokigo, PostGIS, QGIS, ArcGIS, and ArcGIS online/ArcGIS Enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in GIS/GIT or another qualification that the employer finds equivalent. If you have relevant experience instead, that may also be of interest.

You have good database knowledge and experience in system management.

You also have experience handling geographic data in databases and performing GIS analyses, presentations, and layouts.

You are oriented towards urban development issues and see your role in the overall community building process and in the municipality at large.

You also have experience with Sokigo, PostGIS, QGIS, ArcGIS, and ArcGIS online/ArcGIS Enterprise.

We place great importance on your personal qualities and value abilities such as strategic thinking and the ability to see the organization from a holistic perspective.

As a person, you are structured, communicative, results-oriented, and service-minded.

You are also solution-oriented and organized.

Good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate your solutions to people from different areas of expertise are important.

It is an advantage if you have several years of experience working with GIS in a municipal context.
