Åkerblads is an exclusive hotel that welcomes both weekend guests and business and conference guests with high expectations for quality, service, and overall experience. We are now looking for a professional and dedicated Head Waiter who wants to help ensure an extraordinary service experience.

The Company

Åkerblads Gästgiveri, Hotel & SPA is a family-owned business that has been in the family since the 1400s.

Today, the 19th-22nd generation of Åkerblad works with a strong team to provide guests with an unforgettable experience.

The hotel is located in the picturesque and renowned TÄLLBERG in Dalarna. For over 100 years, the place has been a destination for celebrities, royalty, and those seeking a moment of peace and harmony.

Åkerblads Gästgiveri, Hotel & SPA consists of 73 unique and personally decorated guest rooms as well as a Gästgiveri that offers locally produced high-quality ingredients for both weekend and conference guests. The hotel is currently classified with four stars and is focused on continuous development where quality is one of the cornerstones.

Our latest addition to the company is the Spa department, where we offer 3 treatment rooms, 1 duo treatment room, hydrotherapy bath, and a spa suite with its own hot tub and sauna. The spa's water experience welcomes with a brand new pool area with swimming both indoors and outdoors, year-round. The SPA concept also includes a fully equipped gym, sauna, relaxation areas, product shop, and pool bar.

About the Role

Serve food and beverages to both lunch and dinner guests. Lunches are offered as buffet and table service. Dinners are dominated by our constantly updating A'la Carte menu.

You will work closely with our other Head Waiters and the Restaurant Manager.

In the role of Head Waiter, you will be responsible for schedule adjustments and ensuring that daily operations meet our high standard of delivering four-star service. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that operations are carried out with the highest possible quality, efficiency, guest satisfaction, and profitability. You are the guests' first contact during their visit and a natural daily leader for our team of service staff. To fit into this role, you need to be a strong leader who both delegates and takes significant personal responsibility. Additionally, you need to have the ability to oversee the restaurant as a whole while quickly switching between tasks to be present where you are needed. In the role of Head Waiter, you are operationally responsible for the day and actively participate in making all our guests' visits memorable from start to finish.

This role will require a lot of work, and being stress-resistant and solution-oriented is therefore a must. For the right person, it will be both developing, rewarding, and above all, very fun. Working hours vary and are scheduled for both days, evenings, and weekends.

Additional tasks include:

• Plan and structure the day's bookings so that the experience for guests and the working environment for staff is as optimal as possible.

• Have an overview of upcoming bookings

• Ensure that staff's appearance, style, and knowledge align with the hotel's established standards and goals

• Contribute to good communication with other departments.

Competence Profile

We are looking for someone who wants and can deliver first-class service to our guests and lead and develop a team of service staff. Furthermore, we seek someone who is genuinely interested in food and beverages and possesses the knowledge to guide our guests to a memorable experience.

We are therefore looking for someone who is:

• Positive, structured, and passionate.

• You have at least three years of professional experience from a similar role

• Sommelier training or other beverage education is highly meritorious.
