About us:

The Habilitation Center Flemingsberg for children is a specialist outpatient clinic that offers services to children aged 0-17 years with permanent disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, and autism.

The operation is conducted in a multidisciplinary team collaboration together with a social worker, speech therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist, special educator, and occupational therapist. Here you will have the opportunity for broad professional development with tasks that do not only have one correct answer. Our clinic is located near Flemingsberg Center opposite Huddinge Hospital.

About the position:

We are now looking for an occupational therapist for our pleasant habilitation clinic in Flemingsberg. The Habilitation Center Flemingsberg is a unit within Habilitation & Health, an operation within Region Stockholm with special expertise in disabilities. At the clinic, we work in multidisciplinary teams focused on the target groups of movement disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism, and we meet patients both individually and in groups. The patients live in Huddinge Municipality and Botkyrka Municipality and have a disability. We actively work with a focus on developing abilities and strategies for the patient and their network to manage the disability in daily life.

The tasks consist of a wide range of occupational therapy interventions. Your role involves spreading knowledge to the patient, parents, and network about support for the patient to manage their daily activities. The work includes functional assessments, mapping, establishing care and action plans in consultation with the patient and their network, prescribing and following up on aids including high-tech aids in the area of cognitive support, strategies regarding time, structure, and routines that promote independence, housing adaptations, and advice and support regarding disabilities. Parent education/courses on daily functioning, structure, and planning are also included in the assignment.

The work is conducted both individually with the patient/network and in groups. Our patients often have complex needs where collaboration is required, not only within the team but also with healthcare neighbors, municipal operations, and other authorities.

About you:

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with experience working with children/youth or individuals with disabilities. Specific knowledge and experience with children/youth with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities are required, as well as experience with cognitive aids.

You are a person who is proactive, creative, and engaged in finding solutions based on the patient's focus. You enjoy working both independently and in a team and take personal responsibility for planning, developing, and driving patient work forward in a structured manner. The tasks are varied and require flexibility. You are interested in leading groups and have good computer skills. With us, you need to have the ability to collaborate and be driven by collegial learning as you work closely with other professional categories in your unit. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment form:

Permanent employment, full-time

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

  • background checks are applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching instructions for background checks at employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
