We are looking for a Nursing Assistant for our new respite care unit and day activities for people with dementia.

Do you want to be involved from the start and contribute to the development of our day activities and respite care unit? We are now looking for a nursing assistant who wants to work with both day activities and respite care. The operations are located at Ytterbyhemmet, starting in March 2026.

What are day activities and respite care?

Respite care is a service within elderly care that means a person alternates between living at home and spending shorter, planned periods at the respite care unit.

In day activities, the person lives at home but visits the day activities a few days a week for social interaction and activities.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will:

• Work in both respite care and day activities, contributing to safety, activity, and quality of life for our guests.

• Create safety and continuity for our guests together with your team.
• Drive change and contribute to modern and meaningful elderly care.

Your working hours will include days, evenings, and every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities

• Person-centered care and activation.
• Planning and implementation of daily activities.
• Collaboration with relatives and other professionals.
• Documentation according to current routines.
• Support with personal hygiene, meals, and medication management.
• Perform daily tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
• Handle alarms.

🎓 Requirements

• Certified nursing assistant.
• Protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a service certificate confirming your employment as a nursing assistant as of July 1, 2023.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Good teamwork skills and quality awareness.
• Experience working with dementia, in residential care and day activities.
• Experience in psychiatry.
• Able to create safety and structure.
• Knowledge in documentation and digital tools.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting.
• Driver's license B.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Desirable

• Experience with BPSD assessment.
• Experience with motivational interviewing and low-arousal responses.
