The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The Vänersborg area consists of two prisons in Vänersborg and a remand facility in Uddevalla. Östragård Prison is an open prison with space for 192 clients. Brinkeberg Prison is a closed prison with space for 144, and the remand facility in Uddevalla has 57 places. We are a content-rich organization, and we employ correctional officers, administrators, nurses, chefs, teachers, production leaders, managers, and more. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The production leader will, under the supervision of the responsible correctional inspector and together with colleagues, plan and lead the operations. The purpose of the operations is to provide clients with employment during their time in prison and to give them practical experience. As a production leader, you will have a supervisory role and direct contact with our clients. In daily contact with the clients, you contribute to their learning and self-reflection. You plan, delegate tasks, and ensure that our deliveries are made on time. You clarify rules and routines, instruct, and support the client in their work. Together with other colleagues, you ensure that the prison's work is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation. You check attendance and write pay for completed work. Daily routine tasks such as searches and other security-related tasks are also included in your responsibilities. If necessary, you may be required to participate in production to complete deliveries. As a production leader, you are expected to actively contribute to maintaining a good security culture and a positive collaborative climate. Östragård Prison is looking for employees for the greenhouse, for our outdoor team that takes care of the green areas around the prison. We are also looking for employees for carpentry, assembly, and packaging. Brinkeberg Prison is looking for employees for assembly and packaging, mechanical workshop, and welding.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your work, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the potential for human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in relevant fields, such as workshops, welding, assembly and packaging, carpentry, or greenhouse cultivation
• Completed upper secondary education
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in mentoring others at work
• Forklift license
• Work experience in correctional services, security work, or social care.
• Relevant language skills
