Project Manager in Exploitation

Are you a person driven by working on projects in their early stages, setting up project frameworks, and contributing to sustainable and cost-effective solutions? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge with both colleagues and external stakeholders? Do you want to work in a socially important function? Then you should read on!

We are Sweden's leading water and waste company, taking responsibility for the best interests of Stockholmers and the environment in everything we do, both now and for future generations. Together, we work to make Stockholm the world's most sustainable city.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Preparation Unit for Exploitation is the entry point to Stockholm Water and Waste for all upcoming exploitation projects. In this unit, we coordinate, investigate, and drive exploitation projects; we are a hub in the early stages of exploitation projects, constantly collaborating with external and internal stakeholders. As a project manager with us, you have the opportunity to influence the technical solutions in collaboration with relevant parties. To succeed in the role, it helps to have strategic thinking and solid water and wastewater knowledge. You will drive exploitation projects in their early stages, focusing on water and stormwater management. The area of responsibility ranges from initial project questions in very early stages to the design of completed system documentation. Within each project, the main goal is to choose the most sustainable and cost-effective solution for our operational area.

The project manager role involves many external and internal contacts in various forums, including authorities, developers, consultants, and colleagues within the city. You will continuously report the status of your projects to your unit manager and in our project tools.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Drive exploitation projects from early stages to completed system documentation
  • Be responsible for the budget, order and review investigations, and develop system documentation in collaboration with design resources
  • Be responsible for developing and negotiating necessary agreements and orders with external parties
  • Manage cases and referral handling from external actors in the early stages of the urban development process
  • Ensure that the projects follow the TKI principle (Time, Cost, Content) and that the most sustainable solution is chosen
  • Facilitate dialogue with authorities, developers, consultants, and colleagues within the city

QUALIFICATIONS

As a person, you drive your work in a structured and efficient manner. You thrive with a lot of freedom under your own responsibility and therefore need to be proactive and results-oriented within the frameworks that each project has. Furthermore, you find it easy to build relationships both internally and externally, where you see collaboration as an essential component for success. Since you work on multiple projects simultaneously, it is important to be structured and flexible to prioritize between different tasks. You are eager to share your knowledge and experience to contribute to the unit's development.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • A university or college degree with a technical focus in civil engineering, preferably in water and wastewater, or equivalent industry experience in civil engineering and water that we assess as comparable.
  • At least five years of experience as a project manager in the civil engineering sector (e.g., projects in infrastructure and/or construction and civil engineering projects) with experience in working with project management models.
  • Documented experience in project economics, risk management, and scheduling, as well as follow-up and reporting.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, as it is our working language.

We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge and experience in the water sector, especially expertise in water project design, as well as in the urban development process. As an experienced project manager, we view it positively if you have experience from early stages in the project process and/or urban development process.

In addition to competence, we see personal suitability as a central part of our selection.

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, where you will be based at our headquarters in Ulvsunda, Bromma.
