Your Role

As a product-oriented systems engineer, you will be part of the Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities within Saab Surveillance. You will work on system and pre-development tasks for electromechanical and hydraulic actuators for control surfaces or hatches. We are a team of 9 people who follow our products from idea to phase-out/scrapping.

Whether you are a recent graduate or have work experience, we offer a stimulating environment where you can develop and contribute to our safety-critical systems for aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned vehicles.

In your role, you will work with:

• Participating/leads bidding work
• Developing and analyzing customer requirements
• Defining system architecture and design
• Participating/leads R&D and pre-development of the next generation of actuators and control electronics
• Analyzing and simulating solution proposals
• Breaking down customer requirements into your own specifications
• Following development projects and participating in design reviews

You will work closely with marketers, project managers, designers, other systems engineers, and customers, giving you a broad insight into the entire development chain from idea to fully developed product.

Travel is not regularly included in the position, but may occur.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with an engineering degree in electronics, software, mechanics, or physics with an interest in systems and flying products. Experience in hydraulic design, actuators, and motor control is advantageous and appreciated, as well as the willingness to develop in the field.

As a person, you are analytical and communicative. You enjoy both independent work and collaborating with others, such as in teams, and feel comfortable taking responsibility when the situation demands it. The role involves many contact points and requires good collaboration skills.

You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship.
