Your Role
Our purchasing office is now looking for an Operational Buyer for our maintenance workshop for civil aircraft. In the role of Operational Buyer, the work primarily involves placing orders for components, spare parts, and other production materials for our aircraft maintenance workshops. The purchasing function has a significant responsibility, as the right delivery time is often a critical factor for us to deliver an aircraft on time.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying suitable suppliers.
- Creating purchase orders in our IFS system.
- Delivery monitoring.
- Assisting the design department in design projects regarding the selection of items and materials concerning price and lead time.
- Working on optimizing items in stock.
The position may also involve the sale of spare parts depending on interest and suitability.
Support Solutions is a department within the business area Aeronautics and the business unit Aviation Services. Our operations are characterized by several comprehensive commitments to customers in the aviation and helicopter industry both in Sweden and internationally. In Nyköping, there is the Civil Fixed and Rotorwing section, a complete part 145 aircraft workshop with ancillary workshops for maintenance work and modifications of civil aircraft. You will become part of the purchasing group, which currently consists of four employees, one of whom is moving on to new challenges within Saab and needs to be replaced.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with several years of purchasing experience, preferably from a technically oriented business. If you have worked with purchasing in an aviation environment or another regulated industry, it is highly meritorious. The position may also suit you if you have a background as an aircraft technician and now want to take the step towards a more commercial and business-oriented role in purchasing.
As a person, you are commercially driven and work effortlessly in various operational and purchasing systems. You are used to taking significant responsibility, taking your own initiatives, and have a well-developed sense of order. The work also requires you to be solution-oriented and service-minded in your approach. Furthermore, your communication skills are very important, and since many of your suppliers will be located outside Sweden, you need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for specific citizenship.
What You Will Be Part Of
Discover endless opportunities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together, we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
