Kriminalvården is Growing – We are Looking for a Service Technician at Viskan Prison

Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

Viskan Prison is a closed prison that began receiving inmates in March 2025. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and more. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or industrial production. Viskan Prison is easiest to reach by car, and staff parking is available.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a service technician at Viskan Prison, you will be responsible for operationally related system and property management, such as managing locking systems and access control systems, the overarching alarm system of the correctional services, and fire alarm systems. Your tasks also include monitoring and troubleshooting in the correctional services' systems related to assault alarms, Rakel/radio communication, cameras, etc.

You will receive an introduction and close initial collaboration with the service technicians on-site to help you get started. Collaboration will also occur with other service technicians within the Saltvik operational area.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who works well with others and takes responsibility for their tasks. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, as well as planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. Furthermore, you make correct assessments and priorities in your work and have a good understanding of the professional aspects of the job. You continuously maintain your knowledge in the field.

We are looking for someone who has:

• High school education or equivalent training deemed relevant by the employer.
• Experience working within the correctional services.
• Work experience in property management or equivalent work experience deemed relevant by the employer.
• Ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Class B driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience and/or education in other security systems such as alarms, locks, electricity, telecommunications, and image storage.
