Maintenance Technician (MEK) at BAE Systems Hägglunds

BAE Systems Hägglunds in Örnsköldsvik is in an expansive phase with new business worth over 60 billion SEK – and our maintenance department is growing.

We are therefore looking for a Maintenance Technician (MEK) who wants to work at the heart of our production and contribute to ensuring that our machines and facilities operate with the highest availability and quality.

Your future challenge

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work with service, repair, and preventive maintenance of our machines in both production and development. Our machinery consists of CNC machines, presses, cutting equipment, handling equipment, and some automation robotics.

Your tasks will include:

• Mechanical maintenance work in our facilities and calibration of hand tools and pressure testing equipment.
• Participate in and perform risk analyses before planned work.
• Reading drawings, spare parts management, and documentation in our maintenance system.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs of production machines.
• Tool grinding.

The work is currently performed during the day with some on-call duty according to a rotating schedule.

Who you are

Are you meticulous, driven, and enjoy working both independently and in a team? Do you have good organization skills and are risk-aware? Then you are the right person for us. You should also have the ambition to develop, streamline work methods, and work with continuous improvements.

We prefer that you have a degree as a Maintenance Technician, several years of work experience in the field, or equivalent knowledge. Experience with CNC-controlled machines and their construction, precision measurement, vibration measurement, and tool grinding is advantageous, as well as proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

A driver's license is required as you will need to operate forklifts and drive company vehicles between different workshops.

You will also need: Hot work/Lift/Crane & Forklift certification as they are necessary for the job, but can be obtained on-site if not already possessed.
