Project Engineer at Skanska in Östergötland
Do you want to help build tomorrow's society? We are now looking for a project engineer for our projects in Östergötland.
Skanska is one of the world's largest construction companies with strong values, a leading role in sustainability, and clear visions for the future. We also want to maintain a high ethical standard in everything we do and ensure that our employees have a sustainable balance between work and leisure.
The Roads and Civil Engineering division in Central Sweden conducts various land, water and sewage, energy, and construction projects for municipalities, the state, and the business sector in Uppsala, Östergötland, Södermanland, and Bergslagen. The region currently has about 200 employees. We are an ambitious region that is happy and proud of our value-creating projects in land, water, and concrete.
The Östergötland district currently consists of about 60 employees, with approximately 50/50 skilled workers and office staff, meaning we primarily carry out our projects with our own personnel. We are a team with low employee turnover characterized by a culture where we help each other and create pleasant workplaces to perform well together. We have a broad local operation with great expertise in water and other infrastructure such as foundation work for buildings, street expansion, tramway, and construction work such as bridges, quays, and other concrete structures. Our customer base includes both private and public sectors, and our focus is always on finding collaboration regardless of contract form.
Do you want to be part of what’s happening?
As a project engineer, you are a cohesive link in our projects and the working methods we follow in the district. You work both with development and calculations, but the majority of your focus will be on project planning, procurement, and financial management. Your tasks will include:
- Participating in planning, startup, and production of construction projects.
- Managing contract and agreement issues with clients together with the project manager/production manager.
- Responsible for financial management (budget, forecasts, changes, production calculations, invoicing).
- Managing contracts and procurement of subcontractors.
- Contributing to scheduling, logistics, and resource planning.
- Participating in design meetings, production meetings, and coordination of technical issues.
- Ensuring that the project follows procedures and quality requirements.
- Contributing to climate-saving measures.
- Responsible for documentation, follow-up, and feedback on experiences.
- Supporting production management in various matters.
Together with the production manager, project manager, and other team members, you create conditions for safe production with high productivity, quality, and profitability.
Your daily work will be very varied and offers you a stimulating work environment and good opportunities for development in many areas.
Qualifications:
In this role, you will meet many people, both internally and externally, making your ability to communicate and collaborate crucial for success. Furthermore, it is important that you are independent and have a knack for prioritizing and are good at working towards set goals and deadlines in a changing everyday environment. Since you are an important representative of Skanska and our values, we want you to act in accordance with them, both in your professional role and personally.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry in a supervisory role.
- Has a university degree in construction engineering or a vocational college degree in civil engineering.
- Has experience working with financial management and planning.
- Has fluent Swedish skills and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
- Has good knowledge of the Office suite and experience with scheduling software.
As we operate throughout Östergötland, travel is required, so a valid driver's license and access to a car are mandatory.
If you have previous experience in a similar role, or as a supervisor, production manager, or survey technician, it is highly meritorious. Additionally, experience with contract issues and working with schedules is a significant plus.
Apply by March 8!
If you recognize yourself in the above, you are welcome to submit your application including a CV and other application documents. We recruit continuously, so do not wait to send in your application. If you have questions about the position, please contact District Manager Daniel Nilistad at 010-448 12 14.
We work as a team, and regardless of our roles, we share a common goal: to deliver a product that makes us and our customers proud and satisfied. Moreover, we have fun along the way! We promise you as an employee continuous professional development and provide a range of internal training, position-specific programs, and international development opportunities. For us, health and safety are particularly important and also form the basis for our benefits to you as an employee at Skanska.
