Markverkstad Skövde is a department within the FMTS unit, and we have about 190 employees. We primarily perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment but also for the air force and navy, and we provide technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, renovations, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly, modifications, and repair technical analyses.

You will belong to our tank department and work together with 15 other mechanics and weapon technicians. You will be part of a team that works together and supports each other. Everyone is equally important, and the work environment encourages collaboration where knowledge is shared and supported.

Qualifications

• You have at least a two- or three-year high school education in vehicle technology, industry, or other education/competence acquired through work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• General computer skills.

Personal qualities

As a tank mechanic, you are cooperative, flexible, and service-oriented. You enjoy working in a team and contribute to a good atmosphere in the group. Furthermore, you are willing to develop, and you have a systematic and careful approach to your work. Working as a tank mechanic is a physical job where you will be active, and you will need to work in tight spaces, so it is important that you are someone who enjoys moving and staying fit.

Desirable

• You have relevant experience from work or internships in a similar field.
• The Swedish Armed Forces' mechanic training in any vehicle system is desirable, alternatively, system technician training.
• Experience working with the Armed Forces' equipment and vehicles.
• Knowledge of the PRIO and LIFT systems.
• Forklift license.
• Travel training.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
