About Markverkstad Skövde

Markverkstad Skövde is a department within the FMTS unit, and we have about 190 employees. We primarily perform maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment, but also for the air force and navy, and provide technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, renovations, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly, modifications, and repair technical analyses.

Job Responsibilities

As a container mechanic, you will mainly work with basic inspections, self-checks, renovations, and maintenance of the Armed Forces' equipment and material systems, such as containers, platforms, and engines. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications and renovations based on established guidelines. You will participate in various projects and the development of work descriptions. The job thus includes both individual work and teamwork. In this position, there is an opportunity for professional development in refrigeration technology.

Qualifications

• You have at least a two- or three-year upper secondary education in workshop technology, mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or other education/competence acquired through work experience that the employer considers equivalent
• Ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Driving license B

You enjoy working in a team and contribute to a good atmosphere in the group while also being able to work independently. As a container mechanic, you are creative, proactive, and solution-oriented. You are structured, flexible, and plan and prioritize your work effectively. Furthermore, you are willing to develop and have a quality-conscious work approach.

About FMTS

The Armed Forces Technical School, FMTS, based in Halmstad, is a logistics unit where technology is at the center. The unit's operations rest on four pillars – development, education, workshop, and war unit production. For the Armed Forces' units to operate, they need functioning equipment, and FMTS plays an important role in this.

FMTS has a functional responsibility for the technical service within the Armed Forces, which includes following technological developments to anticipate future needs and also proposing changes and improvements.
