Your workplace

Markaryd is a smaller municipality with big goals and high satisfaction. The workplace is under the Technical Administration, which consists of street/park unit, environmental and building administration, water and sewage unit, rescue unit, property management, catering unit, and cleaning unit.

The Park Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the municipality's parks, playgrounds, nature/green areas, and public bathing areas. We also maintain the external environment around schools, preschools, and other municipally owned properties. The staff consists of 8 park workers distributed across various work areas. During the peak season, we increase the staff by about 3 people.

Job responsibilities

For the summer season from April to August, we are looking for someone who has an interest in park work and mowing with ride-on machines. Your tasks as a park worker will vary according to the needs of the operation and may include mowing with machines, trimming and clearing brush, planting, weeding, trimming/pruning hedges, bushes, and other plants, maintaining green areas, plantings, and cleaning. Minor repair work may also occur.

Who are you?

For the position, we require that you:

• have a B driver's license
• have an interest in park work
• have experience with machinery and/or feel comfortable using machines and tools.

It is an advantage if you have:

• training in road work
• training in brush saw
• chainsaw license
• experience from similar tasks

As a person, you should be able to work both independently and in a team and have an easy time collaborating. We place great importance on personal suitability.
