Area Controller Wanted at the County Administrative Board of Kronoberg

Do you want to work closely with agriculture and contribute to ensuring that important EU subsidies are paid out correctly? We at the County Administrative Board of Kronoberg are now looking for an area controller for a seasonal position, tentatively from May to October.

With us, you will have a varied and independent role where you work in the field, meet the county's farmers, and contribute to sustainable rural development.

Description

The Rural Development Department is one of four departments at the County Administrative Board, led by the Director of Rural Development. The department consists of three units, each led by a unit manager.

We are responsible for EU subsidies such as area-based and animal-based support, as well as project and investment support, but also for animal welfare and veterinary issues, food strategies, and skills development and advice to farmers through project activities.

You will work in the unit for rural development and field control together with controllers of area-based and animal-based support and advisors who drive project activities.

In the unit, we are ten employees who together contribute to the whole. Our mission is to control EU subsidies in the field within the strategic plan for the EU's Common Agricultural Policy. The controls are the basis for the payment of various EU subsidies, such as farm support, compensation support, and environmental compensation for pastures. In this way, we contribute to the important payments to the county's farmers, which provide conditions for developed food production.

Responsibilities

Your main task will be area controls. You will check that the conditions for EU subsidies are met in the field. The data you collect is used to see if farmers' applications for support match reality. You will look at field boundaries, crops, and maintenance. You will carry out the work in the field using a handheld computer.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• an academic education with an agricultural/biological focus.
• knowledge of the conditions of agriculture.
• a valid driver's license (B).
• good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• good IT skills.

You can quickly familiarize yourself with regulations and IT systems. The position requires a high degree of structured working methods and administrative competence. It is advantageous if you have previous professional experience in area controls from a county administrative board. Other fieldwork experience, such as work with previous commitment plans or various field inventories, is also advantageous. Agricultural experience is a plus.
