The Intensive Care Unit in Växjö is a general ICU that cares for patients with acute failure of one or more organs. Our patients come from all over the hospital and from all age groups. In our department, we care for patients who are in great need of nursing and almost always require support from medical technology devices such as respirators, syringe and volumetric pumps, dialysis, and more. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nursing assistant with us, you will meet patients who are seriously ill. Your role will be to work in a team-based manner, together with doctors and nurses, focusing on the patient and their relatives in a high-tech care environment. On a typical workday, you will assist independently with various insertions of different accesses and other examinations. The departments have a good work climate, and we collaborate closely with each other. In Växjö, the department consists of about 90 employees, including staff from pre- and post-operative departments. We work in teams that include nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, and physiotherapists. In the department, we have shared leadership, which means that we are three managers who jointly are responsible for the department's operations, finances, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
For the position, you must be a trained nursing assistant, preferably with experience in acute, surgical, or intensive care. The work is characterized by being varied, with peaks and valleys. This requires that you have the ability to stay one step ahead based on different scenarios that may occur and can maintain a high work pace.
Furthermore, you have a positive attitude and are flexible in both thought and action. We would like you to see development and improvement work as a natural part of your job responsibilities, as we hope you want to help develop the intensive care unit by contributing your knowledge and commitment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Our Recruitment Process
A training employment means that you study while retaining your base salary. You will be employed in the department where you will then work as a fully qualified specialist nursing assistant. Please communicate with your manager about your desire to move forward, as admission and job offers may come with shorter notice than with a simple job change.
A prerequisite for you to be considered for a training position is that you are also accepted into the training for specialist nursing assistant in acute and intensive care. You apply for the training at the same time as you apply for this training position.
