Chief of Staff for the Finance Department

The Fortifications Agency is looking for a Chief of Staff for the Finance Department. The Fortifications Agency is experiencing strong growth, and as a property owner, we play an important role in strengthening Sweden's defense capability. The finance department's staff unit has been newly established to streamline and enhance the finance department's ability to lead, monitor, and coordinate the department's operations at a strategic level. We are one of Sweden's largest property owners and experts in fortification, which means protection and construction technology. Our main mission is to contribute to increased defense capability for a safe and free Sweden.

Your Daily Life – Strengthening Security in Total Defense

The Fortifications Agency is in a strong expansion phase with significant investment volumes to continue developing and building properties and facilities within the defense sector. The finance department is responsible for the agency's strategic and financial management and monitoring of operations, as well as quality-assured and reliable financial reporting. Currently, there are about 30 employees in the finance department.

The new staff unit is responsible for operational planning, budget follow-up, economic analysis, and training. The Chief of Staff's task is to drive and develop the staff unit's work together with the employees. Personnel, budget, and operational responsibility fall within the scope of the position. As Chief of Staff, you will be part of the department's management team and provide close support to the department head.

What Can You Offer Us?

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field. You have experience in a managerial position, preferably within the public sector. You have experience in solving complex issues with a high degree of collaboration and experience in managing and monitoring operations. You have several years of experience in the public sector and a good understanding of Swedish public administration.

You possess leadership skills that we consider satisfactory and have good knowledge of administrative IT support systems. You communicate and express yourself well both verbally and in writing in Swedish. A class B driver's license is a requirement.

It is an advantage if you have experience in fortification activities.

About the Employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed in a war position. The place of employment is Eskilstuna or another location by agreement. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security review with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
