The County Administrative Board of Södermanland is looking for a Temporary Head of the Agricultural Support Unit. The unit is responsible for processing and controlling the agricultural support applications submitted through the coordinated application (SAM). This includes direct support under the European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and several environmental compensations within the Strategic Plan.

Job Responsibilities

As the acting unit manager, you will be responsible for the unit's operations, finances, and work environment. Coordination and a holistic focus are essential for successfully leading the unit. As the unit manager, you will represent the County Administrative Board in external networks with other authorities. The position may involve contacts with the media, so communication work is also an important part of the job. Together with colleagues, you will be part of the department's management team and report directly to the department head. You are expected to contribute to the management team and the department.

Qualifications and Profile

We are looking for someone with a university degree in agriculture, bio-based industries, economics, or another education deemed equivalent by the employer. You must hold a B driver's license.

To succeed in the role of acting unit manager, you must have knowledge and interest in working with the development of agriculture both in the county and at the national level. It is advantageous if you have previously held a managerial position, preferably in this area. Experience working at a County Administrative Board and knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the EU's Common Agricultural Policy are also merits. It is also advantageous if you can start on March 16, 2026.

As a person, you are responsible, engaged, and attentive with good pedagogical skills. You are also solution-oriented, collaborative, and possess strong communication skills. The ability to work in a structured manner and a holistic view is necessary for the position, as well as the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

About the Position

The employment is a temporary position from March 16, 2026, to April 30, 2027. All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security clearance and military placement depending on the nature of the assignment.
