Fortifications Agency is looking for four unit managers
The Fortifications Agency is seeking four unit managers as the new Development Department is established and several new roles are created! Your everyday life - contribute to strengthening Sweden's defense capability
The Fortifications Agency is an authority with socially important operations that is in an expansive phase. The Department for Development and Operational Support will be divided at the mid-year shift, and within the new Development Department, the agency's specialist knowledge in the fortification area will be gathered. Here, about 80 employees will work to develop protection and supply solutions, with the development of design guidelines and much more. Another part of the mission is to support other departments and other authorities in the fortification area. We are now looking for four new managers for the following units:
- Fortification Protection - develops protective products and protection solutions.
- Analysis and Verification - competencies in calculation, analysis and testing as well as engineering competence in systems engineering.
- Technical Supply - competencies in the disciplines of electricity, electrical environment, HVAC, fire, among others.
- Fortification Development Projects - responsible for our larger orders within protection and construction technology from the defense sector. Integrates project management, training, and development of long-term good and sustainable customer relationships.
As a unit manager, you will be part of the department's management team and will have the following responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the specific unit as well as a number of underlying groups and group managers.
- Personnel and work environment responsibility.
- Results and budget responsibility.
- Drive technology development within the unit's technical area.
- Participate in external collaborations and forums.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a civil engineer or has another higher education with a technical orientation, preferably academic as the agency assesses equivalent. You have previous experience as a manager with personnel and work environment responsibility as well as results and budget responsibility. You also have experience in development activities within product and/or system development. Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, good English skills, as well as high administrative ability and good knowledge of various IT support systems are also requirements for this position. You also need to have a driver's license, class B.
It is meritorious to have:
- Higher studies at the doctoral level, such as a licentiate or doctoral degree in a relevant technical field
- Leadership training
- Experience in development activities within defense authorities, the defense area, or the defense industry.

About the employment
The position is a permanent employment. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment at the Fortifications Agency is security classified. The place of employment is Eskilstuna.
