JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Secure a summer substitute position for summer 2026 at Kumla Prison.

You will work in the prison's large kitchen and be part of a team. The tasks consist of common duties in a large kitchen such as planning, preparation, and cooking of lunch and dinner.

As a cook, you will primarily prepare lunch and dinner for the inmates at the prison as well as lunch for the staff restaurant. Preparation of diet food and other special diets will occur. Cleaning of kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation are included in the job responsibilities. Collaboration with staff in other functions is a natural part of the work. Simple administration may occur. The staff has a scheduled work plan that includes weekend shifts. In many client departments, self-management is practiced, which means that the work may involve guiding inmates with different backgrounds and skills regarding language, cooking knowledge, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or large-scale catering education at the high school level or other education combined with experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in a large kitchen
• Experience working with self-control
• Experience working with special diets
• Relevant language skills

OTHER
