We are a folk high school that, in addition to our educational activities, also has a wide range of business operations, and we are now looking for an experienced chef for our restaurant Udden. Our mission is a natural and important part of the folk high school.

About the position

As a chef with us, you will be part of a kitchen team that works according to a rotating schedule, where everyone helps out and shares all tasks. The work is varied and social, and you will meet students, staff, conference guests, and external guests daily.

You will work with:

• Cooking daily meals for students, staff, and conference guests
• Production and packaging of meal boxes for delivery
• Special diets, salads, and baking
• Work in both hot and cold kitchens
• Breakfast, conference snacks, and serving in the school restaurant
• Cash handling and dishwashing

In addition to everyday operations, we also prepare:

• Conference lunches and dinners
• Catering for private and corporate events
• Parties, Christmas tables, weddings, and other larger events

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, creative, and confident in their professional role. You are used to taking responsibility, work independently but also thrive in a team. You are passionate about your profession and approach tasks with commitment and professional pride.

• Are service-oriented, social, and have an easy time meeting people
• Have a structured work approach even during busy periods
• Enjoy variation and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves where needed

Qualifications – must-haves

• Qualified chef education
• At least 2 years of work experience as a chef
• Driver's license (manual transmission)
• Good Swedish language skills

Meritorious experience in Folk High School or Folk Education

Working hours and conditions

• Employment rate: 100%
• Regular working hours: Daytime
• Scheduled evening and weekend work may occur on rare occasions, in connection with weekend activities or larger events (for example, weekend courses, Christmas tables, weddings, etc.)

Karlskoga Folk High School is a movement folk high school with Equmeniakyrkan and the youth organization Equmenia as its main sponsors. During a school year, we meet around 350 students in a wide range of courses. Our school offers opportunities for boarding.

We also have a broad and extensive business operation consisting of a restaurant, hostel, and conference.
