About the Position

To work at BBU, you need to be able to cycle, take the bus, or have a B driver's license and access to a car, as our operations are located throughout the municipality. We are looking for someone who can and wants to work across the municipality, which may involve travel outside the urban area.

As a substitute, you will use the Medvind system, where you can input your availability to be booked for shifts.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, flexible, and engaged. It is important that you have a good and respectful attitude – both towards colleagues and guests. You are proactive, cooperative, and self-assured, and can handle stressful situations.

Since communication and documentation are important parts of daily work, good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Examples of Job Duties:

  • You prepare, serve, and present all types of food in a tasteful and hygienic manner.
  • You contribute to maintaining good order and hygiene in the kitchen and related areas.
  • You help ensure that the food maintains good quality during serving and distribution.
  • You participate in the work of ordering supplies and perform administrative tasks related to ordering.
  • You carry out your work in accordance with the organization's self-monitoring program.
  • You perform all tasks in the kitchen and actively participate in the kitchen's and restaurant's quality development.
  • You participate in food preparation.
  • You are aware of and follow the organization's applicable laws, policies, and routines.
  • You work and document in the operational systems that exist.

About the Workplace

The Staffing for Children and Education (BBU) provides substitutes for positions shorter than three months within Children and Education. This means that BBU coordinates and mediates available substitute positions within the administration for preschools, schools, and the meal unit. All short-term substitutes in BBU are recruited and employed in the same way as other staff in the municipality.

Approximately 4530 employees work within the Preschool and Primary School Administration. We meet the young people of Örebro from their first day in preschool to their last day in primary school. Together, we are responsible for creating equal opportunities for the young people of Örebro and laying the foundation for a lifelong learning journey. Qualifications

As a kitchen assistant, you need to be self-sufficient and have a solution-oriented approach to work. Language tests may be applied as part of the recruitment process if you do not have a Swedish high school diploma or SVA03. You should complement your application with grades that show you have the necessary educational level. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old and have a culinary education, or a high school education in food or hotel and restaurant management, or experience working in a kitchen.
  • Ability to substitute in all kitchens within Örebro Municipality.
  • Availability for work at least three days a week.

Meritorious

  • B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Experience working in a large kitchen.
  • Experience preparing special diets.
  • Experience with self-monitoring/HCCP.

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: short-term substitute.

Employment rate: as needed by the organization.

Start date: by agreement.

Number of positions: 20.
