Description
The food organization is part of the Education Administration.
The unit is responsible for the meal operations in the municipality's preschools, schools, and elderly care. The main production takes place in the production/central kitchen, with some preparation also occurring in the preschool and school kitchens.
Job Responsibilities
As an employee within the food operations, your job description includes preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, special diets, packing meal boxes, and being responsible for the distribution of meals and food supplies to the preschool, school, and elderly care units. Purchasing and planning are also handled, along with other common tasks in a professional kitchen. The main theme in our kitchens is sustainability, and we strive for good, nutritious, and climate-smart meals. The number of diners varies depending on the unit, and you will work independently as well as in teams. Being employed in the food unit may also provide opportunities to work in the municipality's preparation kitchens in schools, elderly care, or preschools. Regardless of placement, you will be an important part of a team as a chef in our operations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
- 3-year restaurant education or other education deemed equivalent
- experience in large-scale food production
- knowledge of applicable diet types and food legislation
It is advantageous if you have:
- computer skills
- knowledge of climate and sustainability
- experience with ordering
- experience in leading and organizing
As a person, you can take responsibility, are meticulous, flexible, and have good organizational skills. You are service-oriented and work very well with others. You should also have a passionate interest in cooking for children.
Conditions
It is desirable that you have a driver's license and access to a car.
