About Us

When Health Hjo Health Center is located in the picturesque and beloved summer town of Hjo by Lake Vättern.

Here, there are good opportunities for an active leisure life with hiking, fishing, hunting, sailing, and canoeing, as we have plenty of outdoor areas and are close to Tiveden National Park. We have about 7200 registered patients. The health center has experienced strong patient growth for many years, and the trend continues. Our concept is good accessibility and always the best treatment to meet our patients' needs.

Currently, there are 2 district doctors and 4 ST doctors working here, two of whom are already specialists. We also have a specialist in internal medicine who shares their health center duties with taking on our entire municipal assignment.

In addition to the health center, we also have an assessment clinic, nurse-led specialist clinics, BVC, a mental health clinic, and a rehab coordinator who supports the sick leave processes. We also offer a laboratory, medical foot care, and have a dietitian connected to us. We share premises with maternity care and rehabilitation clinics, which leads to short paths and very good cooperation.

We work with fixed doctor contact, which means that patients are distributed among the doctors based on their date of birth. With you on site, we meet the requirements and quality book guidelines for the number of registered patients per doctor.

During the autumn, we have changed our working methods and developed teamwork at the health center, which means that doctors, nurses, district nurses, and medical secretaries sit down twice a week and together prioritize and book in patient matters (which have already been triaged to doctors). This has led to us managing patients' issues in a more resource-efficient manner and with the right medical priority, right level of care, and instance. Our hope is also that our continuity will increase and that patients will feel cared for and secure with us as their healthcare provider. The work environment is perceived as better for the entire staff group. The doctors appreciate being involved in managing their schedules and workdays.

About the Job

Your tasks at the health center span a wide range of work and include general medical competence with patients of all ages and situations. You work independently and variably with outpatient work and in close collaboration with the nurses at our assessment clinic. Duty at our shared emergency center in Skövde may be relevant. Guidance is provided by an experienced specialist, who offers you support and knowledge exchange. We offer you a varied job with good development opportunities. About You

You are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have an interest in primary care and doing ST training in general medicine. You possess language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.

We are looking for someone who is attentive and has a good demeanor since you will meet many different patients at the health center. You work independently and are confident in making your own decisions while contributing with engagement and initiative to the development of the organization. You enjoy teamwork and are happy to collaborate with colleagues and partners to create a care environment characterized by quality, trust, and care.

The position is a temporary contract for 6 months, with a possible extension and ST training.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

For those who have trained as doctors abroad and have not completed AT in Sweden to obtain a medical license, you are covered by the new regulations regarding Basic Training from July 1, 2021. Basic Training for doctors (BT) is a mandatory introductory part of the specialization training in the new regulation ST-2021 (HSLF-FS 2021:8). This means that you need to complete BT before or as the introductory part of your ST.
