Your Responsibilities

As a teacher in aviation technology, you have an important mission to pass on your knowledge and professional experience to the next generation. You educate students both theoretically and practically at the high school level and within higher vocational education (YH). Teaching is conducted according to the applicable curriculum (GY25) and EASA, with high demands for quality, safety, and structure. Being a teacher today is about capturing students' interests and potential and creating a joyful and challenging teaching experience at the right level. You plan, implement, and follow up on teaching and assess students' knowledge and skills. Mentorship is part of the role and involves building safe and professional relationships with students. You are also responsible for maintaining educational equipment and may conduct commissioned training.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and is well anchored in the aviation industry. The role involves a great deal of autonomy in planning time and tasks. There is room to drive development together with the management team to further shape a school that represents the industry well.

Your Qualifications

You have an education in aviation technology or another technical background with relevant experience in aviation and good knowledge in the aviation technical field. You have experience working with civil or military aircraft maintenance, and it is an advantage if you hold a part-66 certificate, MM certificate, or equivalent military certificate. You are motivated to work on developing students, and we view it positively if you have a vocational teacher's degree or other experience in pedagogical leadership. As a person, you are secure and attentive in collaboration with others and adapt your approach based on the person or group in front of you. You take responsibility for your mission through structure and quality awareness and are accustomed to handling various digital work tools. It is an advantage if you are familiar with regulations and authority requirements based on a postholder function.

To be able to move around our various operations, you need to have a B driver's license.

We Offer

Edströmska Gymnasium has about 450 youth students and 100 adult students. We offer high school and adult education as well as YH education in aviation. Within our high school operations, we provide training that prepares for work in the automotive, transport, aviation mechanic, and construction industries.

The operation has a close collaboration with the industry and business community, especially in Västmanland County, which creates good conditions for industry-related and current education. In this role, there is an opportunity for long-term development and, if necessary, to pursue some form of pedagogical degree partially during working hours.
