Your upcoming role

As a train technician at SJ, you play a crucial role in ensuring that our trains are delivered intact and safe for traffic. Your employment begins with training to provide you with the right conditions for your new job.

In a group with other train technicians, you will work with:

• Technical maintenance according to maintenance plans, including both preventive and corrective work.

• Maintenance work and repairs.

• Driving trains for preparation and movement in the depot.

• Mechanics, electronics, and software.

As a Train Technician, you will be part of the Vehicle Division at SJ, which is responsible for the lifecycle of the vehicle fleet. You will be part of SJ Maintenance within the Vehicle Division and work in Västerås workshop. SJ is a forward-looking company that is in an exciting phase with a historic investment in a new vehicle fleet and digitalization with many new technical solutions.

Expectations for the candidate we are looking for We are looking for someone with a strong interest in technology and a curiosity to learn new things. As a train technician, you work independently and in a team. You have the ability to prioritize tasks, structure your workday, and document deviations. Flexibility is an important trait as the work is varied and filled with challenges. You have the opportunity to work according to a varied schedule and in shifts.

• High school education with a technical or vehicle focus.

• Alternatively, work experience in maintenance of trucks, cars, or as an industrial electrician.

• Preferred: Completed train technician exam from a vocational school or work experience as a train technician.

• Good Swedish in speech and writing.

• Good computer skills.
