Summer Temporary Position as a Driver at Vafabmiljö

Are you eager to drive a garbage truck and make a contribution to the environment? We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our wonderful team and help us collect waste during the summer!

As a driver with us, you will either drive side-loaders, rear-loaders, or assist as a co-driver. This job offers you both freedom and responsibility, combined with teamwork, where you become an important piece of our team over the summer. You will be based in Köping or Fagersta and take on assignments in the local area.

The position is a summer temporary position during the period of June-August 2026. We would like a start as early as May for paid training.

Together with other drivers, supervisors, and transport management, you will provide citizens with top-class service. Are you the one we are looking for?

About the Role

As a driver, you will primarily drive side-loaders and rear-loaders to collect waste from both households and businesses. If you are new to the role, you will receive thorough training before you take on your own responsibilities.

A typical day often starts and ends at the operations office with the entire workgroup and supervisors. Transport management and supervisors lead and distribute the work. The day's driving is predetermined and is done via Future/Mobile, which is our transport management system.

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive side-loaders and rear-loaders to collect waste.
• Be responsible for carrying out daily drives from the Mobile system and reporting back and documenting any deviations in the system.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a good working environment.
• Be responsible for weighing and emptying material types at our waste facility after each daily drive.
• Be responsible for daily vehicle maintenance of our vehicles.

We See That You Have:

• High school education in transport or equivalent work experience.
• C driver's license.
• Valid YKB.
• Good computer skills.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Ability to work throughout the entire summer period from early June to late August, with training in April/May.

It Is Meritorious If You Also Have:

• CE driver's license.
• ADR certification.
• Cranes license (for certain routes).
