Vehicles and Facilities

The Vehicles and Facilities unit consists of a mechanical workshop, a sign workshop, and a facilities workshop. The unit also includes a vehicle organization responsible for the cars used within Region Gotland's operations.

In the mechanical workshop, repairs and maintenance of vehicles, machines, and equipment are carried out. The sign workshop manufactures signs and materials used by the operations within Region Gotland. In the facilities workshop, they take care of equipment, playgrounds, and other facilities in outdoor environments owned by Region Gotland to provide the public with a pleasant park, nature, and urban environment.

We are a team that currently consists of two dedicated pavers who see the value in supporting and sharing each other's experiences and knowledge. You also need to be curious about new techniques and follow developments in the field. For us, it is important to collaborate with each other and take joint responsibility for the unit's mission. We complement each other's competencies, which makes it important that your attitude towards wanting to learn and share others' knowledge is present. We have a good atmosphere and collaboration in our unit that we want you to be a part of.

We are currently looking for a colleague to our fantastic unit.

Your Responsibilities

As a paver, you will have a varied and active daily life where you will help create beautiful environments for citizens to enjoy.

Together with your colleagues, you will spend most of the year paving our streets and outdoor environments, primarily in Visby city center. The work is physically demanding.

From December to March, you will work in our facilities workshop, where you will work on everything from constructions to repairs of playgrounds, fences, patios, and play equipment, etc. You will be in outdoor environments at various locations around Gotland and work on varying projects.

Your responsibilities also include maintenance of the region's public environments and facilities, snow removal, and machine work with, for example, wheel loaders and excavators.

On-call duty may be included.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with relevant education in construction and facilities with a focus on land and facilities. A manual transmission B driver's license is a requirement for the position. You have at least a couple of years of experience in paving, land development, or what is deemed equivalent by the employer.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in construction work. We also prefer that you have training in forklift/wheel loader/excavator, stone, and concrete work. Training certificates for wheel loaders and excavators are advantageous. Also, Work on the Road 1.1-1.3 and 2.1 are advantageous.

If you have good computer skills, that is also a plus, as we document our work and report our time on computers and mobile devices. The work requires that you are meticulous and perform your tasks in a careful and thorough manner.

You are service-oriented and place great importance on your work benefiting others. You are good at collaborating with others and appreciate working in a team. You are attentive and communicate with colleagues and customers in a constructive manner.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As we work in various operational areas, an extract from the criminal record will be required.
