Vehicles and Facilities
The Vehicles and Facilities unit consists of a mechanical workshop, a sign workshop, and a facilities workshop.
The unit also includes a vehicle organization responsible for the cars used within Region Gotland's operations.
In the mechanical workshop, repairs and maintenance of vehicles, machines, and equipment are carried out. The sign workshop manufactures signs and materials used by the operations within Region Gotland. In the facilities workshop, maintenance of equipment, playgrounds, and other outdoor facilities owned by Region Gotland is managed to provide the public with a pleasant park, nature, and urban environment.
We are a team that currently consists of eight dedicated facility workers. We are an engaged and curious team that sees the value in supporting and sharing each other's experiences and knowledge. It is also important to be curious about new technologies and to follow developments in the field. For us, it is important to collaborate with each other and take joint responsibility for our assignments. We complement each other's competencies, which makes it important that your attitude towards wanting to learn and share others' knowledge is present. We have a good atmosphere and collaboration in our team that we want you to be a part of.
We are currently looking for two employees for our fantastic unit.
Your Tasks
As a construction worker with us, you will have a varied and active everyday life where you can help create beautiful environments for citizens to enjoy.
Together with your colleagues in the facilities workshop, you will work on everything from constructions and new installations to repairs of playgrounds, fences, outdoor areas, paving, and play equipment. You will be working in outdoor environments at various locations around Gotland and working on varying projects, which means you will see and learn new things all the time.
Your tasks also include maintenance of the region's public environments and facilities, snow removal, and machine work with, for example, wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
On-call duty may be included.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with relevant education in one of the areas of facilities, construction/carpentry. A B driver's license with a manual transmission is a requirement for the position. You have at least a couple of years of experience in construction, facilities, or are assessed as equivalent by the employer.
We consider it an advantage if you have experience in the operation and maintenance of public environments and equipment, as well as inspections of play equipment. We also prefer that you have training in forklift/wheel loader/excavator, stone and concrete work. A chainsaw license AB, work on roads, BE driver's license, and lift certification are also seen as strengths. If you have good computer skills, that is also an advantage, as we document our work and report our time on computers and mobile phones.
The work requires that you are meticulous and perform your tasks in a careful and thorough manner. You are service-oriented and place great importance on your work benefiting others and are attentive to others' wishes and needs. You are good at collaborating with other people and appreciate working in a team. You are receptive and communicate with colleagues and customers in a constructive manner.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
As we work in various operational areas, an extract from the criminal record will be required.
