We are now seeking cooks for temporary positions during the summer of 2026 for several operations in the Stockholm area, including facilities in Norrtälje, Österåker, Täby, Sollentuna, Huddinge, Trångsund, central Stockholm, and Ekerö.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a cook, you will work in a large kitchen and be part of a team of varying sizes depending on the operation. The kitchen staff prepares meals for all inmates and, in some detention centers and prisons, also for staff.

The tasks include all common duties in a large kitchen such as planning, preparation, cooking lunch and dinner, as well as special diets. It also includes regular kitchen tasks distributed within the team, as well as self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. In the kitchens of some of our prisons, inmates will also work on various tasks where you, together with other staff, will teach and guide them in their work.

Working hours are during the day, mainly weekdays, and approximately every other or every third weekend.

The position is a full-time temporary position for at least 8 weeks during the period of June to August. Before the temporary position begins, an introduction must be completed at the detention center or prison where the position is located. In some cases, there is an opportunity to complete the introduction in the spring to then have a needs-based employment until the temporary position begins. There is also a high probability of continued needs-based employment after the temporary position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. Since clients who have employment work in the kitchen in some of our operations, it is also important that you have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and that you can adapt the way you communicate messages.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally. We are looking for someone who has:

• Professional experience as a cook.
• The ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education.
• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience working with self-controls.
• Experience working with special diets.
• Experience mentoring people in a socially vulnerable situation.

In this recruitment, ongoing selection will be made.
