As an occupational therapist with us, you will be part of a small group of occupational therapists, some of whom work in outpatient care and several in inpatient care. We work closely together and assist each other between departments as part of our daily work. Your base placement will be in geriatric and orthopedic inpatient care. In the branch of geriatric care where you will have your base placement, we work with patients who need occupational therapy interventions in connection with cognitive illness and conditions requiring palliative care. In orthopedics, you will largely work with patients undergoing planned surgeries, such as hip and knee replacements, but also with patients who have sustained traumatic injuries. Exciting times lie ahead as our geriatrics is moving to new, fresh premises.

You will take responsibility for and perform occupational therapy interventions in your departments based on planning. Your tasks include mapping your patients' activity abilities and living situations, conducting ADL assessments and training, assessing needs for and trialing assistive devices, conducting cognitive assessments, and making home visits as needed. Your tasks also include collaboration with the patient and their relatives, the department's professionals, our discharge team, and other parts of the rehabilitation chain.

We regularly supervise students, and this is included in the occupational therapist role with us.

You are professional and empathetic in your interactions and actions. You are a skilled problem solver and good at prioritizing your work, as meetings with patients, tasks, and workdays vary from day to day and can differ between departments.

Meritorious: experience as an occupational therapist.
