We are currently seeking multiple Instrument Technicians for rotational work in Norway.
This is a unique opportunity to enhance your CV with international experience in the oil, gas, and energy sectors – while working under an attractive rotation schedule with long continuous leave. The project is expected to last at least 1 year. After that, you will be moved to new rigs.
Working hours & rotation
The work follows a favorable rotation schedule:
✅ 14 days of work – 21 days off
• Work shifts are normally about 12 hours including breaks
• Planned training on-site during the first two working days
About the project – (Onshore at the yard)
The work takes place at one of Norway's largest on/offshore yards, located in Leirvik on the island of Stord.
The rig is in the yard for renovation and upgrading – meaning not offshore at sea, but in a safe industrial environment on land by the quay.
Job description
As an Instrument Technician in the project, you will work with classic instrumentation and automation tasks within industry and shipyards such as:
- Installation and assembly of instrumentation, sensors, and transmitters
- Routing and connecting instrument cables, signal cables, and control cables
- Termination in junction boxes, instrument panels, and control cabinets
- Loop-checks, functional testing, and commissioning of instruments
- Calibration of pressure, flow, level, and temperature instruments
- Troubleshooting and corrective actions for signal or operational deviations
- Work in EX-classified areas according to ATEX/Ex requirements
- Documentation and reporting according to clear routines and safety requirements
You will work in a team with other professionals and adhere to high standards of safety and quality.
✅ We are looking for someone who has
- Education in instrumentation, automation, or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in industry/offshore/shipyard
- Experience with loop-checks, calibration, and commissioning
- Knowledge of EX environments is an advantage
- Fluent in spoken/written in one of the following languages: Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or English
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Flexible and solution-oriented attitude
Courses & requirements before starting
Mandatory:
- EX / Basic safety course
- Practical Fall Protection course
- HSSE introductory course
- First aid
