About Us

The Oncology Clinic Sörmland is a regional clinic serving the entire Sörmland area. Our ambition is to provide the highest level of competence and quality in caring for, treating, and supporting patients in Sörmland affected by tumor diseases.

In the oncology department, we care for not only patients with tumor diseases but also hematology patients with various blood disorders. The patients in the department are aged 18 years or older. We are also responsible for the aftercare of stem cell transplant patients in Sörmland.

The oncological services at Mälarsjukhuset are centralized in one building, which provides good logistics for both patients and staff. Radiation therapy is performed on the second floor, the oncology outpatient clinic is on the third floor, and the inpatient department is located on the fourth floor. An oncology outpatient clinic is also available at Nyköping Hospital.

With us, you will experience an exciting workday where you have the opportunity to acquire broad competence with specialized skills in oncology and hematology. We work at a varied pace, encountering patients in acute situations as well as patients at the end of life. You will work with pleasant and supportive colleagues in an open and welcoming environment. Our vision is a sustainable work environment where everyone is given the conditions needed to perform well and feel good at work. We work during the day in three teams consisting of two nurses and one nursing assistant per team. In the evenings, you work more independently but have support from both nursing colleagues, nursing assistants, and a care leader.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse, you will be responsible for the care of patients assigned to your team. Your duties include medication management, infusions, injections, and transfusions. You will also administer chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and antibody treatments, and you will handle central lines daily. Your work will also involve planning upcoming treatments and discharge planning. The job is interesting and varied, with both planned activities and acute medical care. You will gain broad competence as you meet severely ill patients in many different situations.

We offer individually tailored onboarding, and newly graduated nurses will be assigned an experienced mentor during their first year with us. It is important that you feel secure in your professional role. You will receive training in chemotherapy handling, and we offer opportunities for continuous professional development. You will also have the opportunity to influence your schedule as preferred scheduling is applied. With us, you will find an open, cheerful, and engaged staff group that enjoys working together. Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. Experience in oncology or hematology care is an advantage. You love working in a team, are attentive, and can communicate well with both colleagues and patients. You can quickly adapt to acute situations and changing circumstances. You are easy to collaborate with and have an approach characterized by respect, humility, and empathy. We place great importance on personal qualities.
