For people and the environment, Västerås Stadsmission operates a social grocery store, Matcentralen. Through this, we support 250 households each week and rescue over 300 tons of food that would otherwise have been wasted. The store encompasses a well-established food and logistics chain and serves as a workplace for individuals who need a little extra support or adaptation in their work for various reasons.

As the store manager, you will work operationally with the daily store operations at Matcentralen. The job consists of tasks such as receiving goods, unpacking deliveries, handling food according to established procedures, and leading and actively participating in the guidance of employees in work integration, volunteers, and part-time staff. You will be involved and responsible for logistics and staffing planning together with the operations manager.

This means that you create conditions for all employees to perform their jobs in accordance with Västerås Stadsmission's values. Ensuring that customers have the best possible experience in the store and that our food donors receive the best possible interaction and service.

To succeed and thrive in the role and with us, you need to have experience working in retail/grocery, preferably as a team leader or store manager, and ideally within food. You need to be sharp on structure, planning, and able to think on your feet when daily tasks need to be adjusted.

We place great importance on experience in social work, as well as experience in mentoring and coaching others. You need to be attentive and have a strong commitment to people's diverse characteristics and experiences.

We would like you to be creative and have good communication skills. In the job, you need to have the ability to engage, motivate, and be clear. Together with the operations manager, you will also develop campaigns, ensure internal communication, and manage social media. You will have daily contact with companies, churches, and stakeholders that enable Matcentralen to continue to develop.
