Android Platform & Application Engineer – develop systems that drive vehicles and industry

Tech Talents is now looking for Android engineers for assignments primarily in the automotive industry, but also in related areas such as industrial systems and advanced technical products. Here, Android is used as a basis for HMI and system solutions in real products.

About the role

In this role, you will work with Android-based systems where you can contribute at both the platform and application level depending on your interest. You will work closely with hardware, embedded systems, and other engineering disciplines, and be involved in the entire development chain – from architecture and technical choices to implementation, integration, and verification in a real environment.

Examples of work areas

• Development and adaptation of Android-based platforms for embedded systems
• Application development for HMI and user interfaces in vehicles and industry
• Work with Android OS, system services, frameworks, or platform-related components
• Integration with underlying systems and communication with embedded and vehicle platforms
• Programming in Kotlin, Java, and if necessary C/C++
• Work with communication layers and system interfaces (e.g., CAN, IPC, network protocols)
• Contribute to architecture, performance, robustness, and long-term system design

We are looking for someone who

• Has a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, electrical engineering, or a similar engineering field
• Has 1–5 years of experience in Android development in technically complex environments
• Has a good understanding of how Android works as a system and platform
• Thrives in Linux-based development environments
• Wants to work closely with hardware, embedded systems, and real products

It is a merit (but not a requirement) if you have experience in:

• AOSP, platform customization, or system-level Android development
• C/C++
• Automotive or industrial communication interfaces (e.g., CAN)
• Safety-critical or regulated environments
