Company Description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has Nordic roots with a global reach. Our shared principles – Result driven, Client centric, Empowering, and Accountable – guide us in how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.

Job Description

Do you want to lead complex and socially important projects where the right overall approach determines the outcome? At AFRY, we are looking for a project manager who can confidently step in as a general consultant – from early stages to construction start – and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to create robust, sustainable, and reliable solutions for healthcare and defense.

As a project manager with us, you take overall responsibility for the design process and lead the work across multiple technical areas. You:

  • Act as a general consultant with responsibility for the whole – coordination, time management, cost control, quality management, and management of both internal and external subcontractors.
  • Lead multidisciplinary design teams (e.g., architecture, construction, HVAC, electrical/automation, logistics) and drive effective collaboration towards common goals in complex projects.
  • Drive the process from early stage to construction documentation and handover – ensuring compliance with requirements throughout the design process.
  • Contribute to bidding work and business development and develop long-term customer relationships together with AFRY's technical specialists.
  • Coordinate authority contacts and procurements, and may also include construction management support if needed.
  • Work data-driven (e.g., with BIM) to increase precision, pace, and consensus in the design process.
  • Integrate sustainability and cost management so that design decisions balance function, climate, and life cycle cost.

Qualifications

We believe you:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in project management in large or complex construction/infrastructure projects and enjoy taking overall responsibility as a general consultant.
  • Have documented ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, creating structure and consensus in all stages of the design process.
  • Have experience in a consulting role with business and technical project responsibility, including bidding work.
  • Master BIM and digital working methods in design.
  • Express yourself well in English in both speech and writing.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience in hospital/care environments or security-classified facilities as well as knowledge of LOU, ABK, and AMA.
