About the Company

GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for engines for aircraft and rockets. We also work with engine maintenance.

At GKN Aerospace, you become part of a global company where technology, innovation, and collaboration are central driving forces. You will work in a future-oriented industry with good development opportunities, both professionally and personally. We offer competitive terms, secure employment, and a work environment where your contribution makes a difference – for real.

Your Responsibilities

The Engine Systems & Accessories department focuses on product support activities such as troubleshooting, problem-solving, and investigation related to the use of jet engines, primarily focusing on complete engines, their subsystems (electrical systems, oil systems, air systems, fuel systems, etc.), intramodular issues, system safety, and aircraft and engine interfaces.

In addition to product support, we also work on the development and upgrades of jet engines. A large part of our operations is focused on the JAS 39 Gripen engines RM12 and RM16, but also stationary gas turbines and working on next-generation engine concepts are included in the department's activities.

We now need to strengthen our team that works with various subsystems of the engine, such as fuel systems, oil systems, and devices for RM12. We work closely with the product and its maintenance, which provides good opportunities to participate in testing and other maintenance activities.

Typical tasks included in this role are primarily, but not limited to:

• Support product support activities such as troubleshooting, problem-solving, and investigation related to the use of engines in service or during maintenance/testing at GKN

• Participate in product development from concept (including engine testing) to implementation

• Technology development/concept development related to future engine concepts, propulsion systems, or further electrification related to existing engines

• You will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with customers, end-users, and other partners

• Part of the role is to broaden your knowledge within your area of responsibility at both component and system levels

• The role will be adapted to your skills and experience

Your Profile

We believe that you, as a candidate, have a university degree (BSc, MSc, or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another relevant engineering degree. You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and as a person, you are well-organized and structured, driven, meticulous, and positive.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone with curiosity and interest in learning and building competence within our areas of expertise. You are a team player with a humble approach and the ability to influence even outside your own team.

Travel may be required, primarily within Sweden but also internationally may be relevant.

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience from work in the aerospace industry or from working with fuel systems, oil systems, hydromechanical and electrical devices (pumps, regulators, FADEC, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge in bearings, gears, hydraulics, and pump technology

Application Procedure

In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace collaborates with Skill. The position is a consultancy assignment where you will initially be employed by Skill with good opportunities for continued employment at GKN.

If you have questions about the position, please feel free to contact the responsible recruiter Johan Zizala at [email protected]

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
