Psychologist for the PTP Program at Psychiatry Northwest

Psychiatry Northwest is a university clinic in the northwestern part of Stockholm County's healthcare area (SLSO).

The clinic provides psychiatric care at a specialist level in outpatient and inpatient care to all individuals aged 18 and older registered in Stockholm County. The clinic has approximately 450 employees distributed across three general psychiatric outpatient clinics, five subspecialty clinics, and six care departments. Our inpatient care is located at Danderyd Hospital and S:t Göran's Hospital.

We are now looking for someone who wants to join our popular and well-established PTP program, starting on September 1, 2026. We offer you a local PTP program that includes several lectures and seminars focused on clinical application, as well as a place in the central PTP program of Region Stockholm.

Below is information about the current PTP positions and what the work entails.

General Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic: 5 Positions

At our general psychiatric outpatient clinics in Solna, Sollentuna, and Upplands Väsby, work is conducted in teams with tasks that include psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. All PTP positions within general psychiatry include work with both assessment and treatment to varying degrees. However, two of the positions will have a greater focus on neuropsychiatry (NP). See the distribution of the five positions below:

  • 3 positions in general psychiatry
  • 2 positions in general psychiatry with a focus on neuropsychiatry

OCD Unit: 1 Position

Specialized clinic in Solna with the task of assessing, investigating, and treating obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions. The clinic provides intensive treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder, Bergen 4-day treatment (B4DT), in which the PTP psychologist will receive training.

Borderline Unit: 1 Position

Specialized clinic in Solna with the task of assessing, investigating, and treating emotionally unstable personality disorder (EIPS), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and self-harming behavior. The position includes both assessment, investigation, and treatment of the aforementioned diagnoses and problem behaviors. All treatment components in DBT are included in the position. Training in DBT will be offered.

Job Responsibilities

Common to all PTP positions is that you will, under supervision, conduct psychiatric assessments and investigations. Furthermore, you will provide psychiatric treatment. The goal is for you to gain broad experience in various types of patient work. The psychotherapeutic treatment work will consist of CBT or a related method.

During your PTP, you are expected to participate in the clinic's PTP program. The program includes psychiatric-specific knowledge with a focus on clinical application.

Duration: 1 year, full-time 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

Degree in psychology with a focus on CBT. For those with a foreign psychology degree, please attach the National Board of Health and Welfare's assessment that your education corresponds to the Swedish psychology degree.

Merits

Experience in adult psychiatric work with relevant patient groups is desirable. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, ability to collaborate, and flexibility.
