Munkagårdsgymnasiet is looking for a department manager

Munkagårdsgymnasiet is now seeking an engaged and secure department manager for our program “Internat med förstärkt stöd” – an important part of the school’s overall mission to create the best possible conditions for young people to succeed in their education and daily life.

About the role

Within the Region Halland’s administration of Culture and School, there are regional cultural activities and three schools; Munkagårdsgymnasiet, Katrinebergs folkhögskola, and Löftadalens folkhögskola.

Munkagårdsgymnasiet is a high school with approximately 310 students in the Nature Management program, focusing on animal care, agriculture, nature tourism, forestry, and gardening. We also offer a special focus for students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF).

Many of our students live in the school’s boarding house, where we work with clear structure, safety, and community, always with the student’s development at the center.

As a complement to the regular boarding house, we offer “Internat med förstärkt stöd” for students who need additional support to manage their living situation. To live with us, a decision from the student’s home municipality is required – through social services or LSS caseworkers.

The role includes, among other things:

• Personnel responsibility, including leadership, scheduling, and professional development
• Work environment responsibility for both employees and students within the framework of the operation
• Budget responsibility and ensuring good resource utilization
• Manager responsibility according to the Social Services Act (SoL)
• Contact person for students’ home municipalities and guardians during non-scheduled school hours
• Leading a team of approximately 15 employees/coaches
• Ensuring routines, structure, and quality in the operation

You will be part of the school’s management team and work closely with the principal, student health, and other units.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a secure, stable, and attentive leader with a strong professional approach.

You have substantial experience working with young people with complex needs and understand the importance of collaboration between schools, social services, LSS, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work
• Several years of experience working with youth in LSS, social services, and/or NPF areas
• Experience in collaboration between social services, schools, and other authorities
• Ability to lead and develop operations with clear structure and quality

Meritorious

• Training in CBT
• Experience with manager responsibility according to SoL
• Experience in boarding or housing support
