About the Job

The role of Project Manager Construction is being developed within Region Halland. In the long term, it will be one of three project managers leading projects with a strategic perspective on each hospital area.

Initially, the role will be filled in the Halmstad hospital area, then in the Varberg hospital area, and finally established in the Kungsbacka hospital area.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and implement the project process of Region Properties together with the Head of the Construction and Project Department.

As the Project Manager for the Local Supply Plan Hospital Area, you will play a key role in a unique and complex project with significant societal impact. You will lead project teams and their sub-projects in an engaged, goal-oriented, and communicative manner, creating conditions for sustainable and long-term project development. The projects in the local supply plan are in the planning phase and sub-projects are estimated to start construction in 2027.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Creating favorable conditions for the implementation of the local supply plan by proactively considering the execution from a long-term and strategic perspective.
• Ensuring that the project achieves set goals regarding time, quality, and budget, including work with timelines, risk analyses, control plans, and financial follow-ups.
• Proactively coordinating with other project stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure that the project runs according to plan and budget.
• Leading and inspiring the project organization for the Hospital Area forward.
• Taking responsibility for budget, operations, and ongoing follow-up during the project process.

You will represent the projects in internal and, when necessary, external steering groups. You will report to the Head of the Construction and Project Department and be responsible for preparing materials and presenting matters for the board, steering group, and other forums. It is important that the project is conducted both in a structured manner and in a collaborative spirit, in close dialogue with project managers, the project team, and other functions and operations within Region Halland.

The position is a permanent employment with Halmstad as the place of work. Travel within Halland is required.

About the Workplace

Region Properties is a department within the Region Office's finance department. We are primarily responsible for construction, management, and rental issues. This means that we actively support the region's operations with suitable premises, good environment, and adapted infrastructure. Our operations can also be expressed in properties and square meters: health centers, hospitals, schools, dental and psychiatric clinics. A total of 440,000 square meters with many and various construction projects and about 90 leased contracts.

Qualifications

• Relevant university or college education, for example as a civil engineer or engineering degree, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience from large and complex urban development, construction, or infrastructure projects in the implementation phase or programs that have lasted for several years, experience with complex organizational structures and technology-intensive projects is meritorious.
• At least ten years of experience in the construction sector and accustomed to working as a project manager or leader in advanced project environments.
• Experience in budget and operational responsibility, personnel responsibility is meritorious.
• Good knowledge of construction law and LOU. Experience and knowledge of various procurement/business and implementation forms customary in the construction sector is meritorious.
• Experience with established project methodologies or project tools.
• Experience and ability to compile information and present it in various management forums. Experience in reporting to boards or political organizations is meritorious.
