We are now looking for an experienced and driven production engineer with a strong background in cutting machining, particularly focusing on gear machining and gear grinding, to join Leax Mekaniska in Köping.

About the role

With us, you will have a key role in production – from prototype to rolling series. You will work closely with both machines and people and help drive improvements that make a real difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, securing, and optimizing machining processes for gears and shafts
• Providing technical support to production – hands-on when needed
• Analyzing work methods and driving continuous improvements
• Creating and updating production documentation (work, process, measurement, and setup instructions, etc.)
• Participating in the industrialization of new products and investment projects
• Contributing to ergonomic, safe, and efficient workplaces
• Occasionally stepping in during machine stoppages, quality disturbances, or staff shortages

Who are you?

You are technically curious, analytical, and solution-oriented – but not afraid to get your hands dirty. You thrive in production, enjoy collaboration, and believe, just like us, that the team is stronger than the individual.

We believe you have:

• Post-secondary education in production/engineering or equivalent work experience
• Experience from the manufacturing industry, preferably automotive or heavy industry
• Good knowledge of cutting machining – especially gear machining and gear grinding
• Experience with CNC and programming (Siemens, Fanuc, Okuma is a plus)
• Ability to read technical drawings and work systematically

You are self-driven, fearless, and have a strong commitment to your profession – and you always want to be a little better than yesterday.

Extra points if you have experience with:

• Lean, 5S, FMEA, PPAP, and capability measurements
• CAD/CAM (Solid Edge, Esprit) and the ERP system Monitor G5
• Milling, grinding, skiving, hening
• Robot programming, PLC, TIA Portal
• Machines such as Emag, Kapp-Niles, Liebherr, or Schütte

We also have our own hardening workshop, so we process both soft and hard materials.

Practical information

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driving license B
• Occasional readiness for uncomfortable or extended working hours
