Do you want to help develop the cities of the future? We are now looking for an Urban Ecologist who wants to contribute to the field of urban and peri-urban ecosystems. You will help provide practical solutions with good urban plant environments that contribute to biodiversity and climate adaptation. The role is suitable for you who thrive close to both practice and research, and who want to be part of a team driving sustainable development in our cities.

The unit possesses broad expertise and deep knowledge in climate adaptation and stormwater management. With us, you will work closely with researchers, project managers, and practitioners on research projects and assignments related to decision support, multifunctional solutions, ecosystem services, flood risks, technology development, as well as testing and demonstration.
We believe that cities and communities should be planned in a long-term and sustainable way, considering our constantly changing climate and ongoing urbanization. With us, you will have the opportunity to be part of fun and exciting projects, where we truly work at the forefront!
Examples of ongoing and completed projects in the field include:

You will work with the collection, compilation, and analysis of information, fieldwork, and sampling. Over time, you can develop towards project management, business development, and networking – a clear career path for those who want to translate research results into practical applications.
Location for the position: Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, or Lund.
Who are you? We believe you are at the beginning of your career and that you hold an MSc degree in one of the following areas:
• Biology, physical geography, or environmental science
• Landscape architecture or landscape/garden engineering
• Agronomy, horticulture, or forestry
• Or equivalent education or complementary experience.
Meritorious:
• Documented knowledge of the relationships between landscape, soil, and water
• Documented knowledge of stormwater management and climate adaptation using nature-based solutions
• Interest in business development
You are meticulous, structured, and have an easy time absorbing research-based knowledge and translating it into practical solutions. As a person, you are organized and systematic, with a natural ability to keep order in both projects and data. At the same time, you are communicative and outgoing, and enjoy building good relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients.
We appreciate that you have a business-oriented perspective, meaning you can see opportunities, understand needs, and want to contribute to developing new ideas, services, or projects over time. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Are we right for each other? With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a growing company where a lot is happening. At RISE, we appreciate diversity and are convinced that it contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. You will work in a dynamic environment that offers you development opportunities both professionally and personally. With us, you will have the chance to make a real difference.
