Team Northern Norrland

You will belong to Team Northern Norrland in the northern Sweden unit. The area that the position concerns is Arvidsjaur, but it also includes travel related to control assignments and meetings in the job.

Job Responsibilities

Food control offers varied work tasks, and one day does not have to be like the other. As an official veterinarian, you inspect the animals arriving at slaughterhouses and are an important part of the chain towards safe food. You will use your broad veterinary medical competence to ensure through live animal inspections and meat inspections that the animals used for food are healthy. Inspection of game meat and reindeer is also part of everyday life.

Working in food control is rewarding and challenging. You are an authority figure with many interests to address. You have a control function, but you should also act as support and facilitate for entrepreneurs to understand how to do things correctly. You always have your team close at hand. You exchange experiences, build your knowledge, and develop together in your daily work. Together, you contribute to the development of control in your area.

Your Qualifications

To work as an official veterinarian with us, you must have a Swedish veterinary license. You have good administrative skills and should have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as being able to understand and be understood in English. A B driver's license is a requirement.

As a person, you need to be flexible, punctual, efficient, and able to make well-founded decisions and take initiatives. You have a high level of personal maturity with the ability to reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, and you can see and contribute to the whole. You dare to make the decisions required in consultation with your colleagues and supervisor. You have good collaboration skills and help selflessly where needed. You keep yourself updated on the latest in your field of knowledge and are happy to share your knowledge and experience. At the same time, you are open to learning from others. It is together with your colleagues that you succeed and develop. Conversations in meetings with entrepreneurs and in contact with other stakeholders are also part of the job, which requires you to be clear, professional, and attentive in your communication.
