Business Developer in Fuel Procurement and Portfolio

Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable world – together with others? We are now welcoming a Business Developer in Fuel Procurement and Portfolio to our marketing department. In this role, you will develop and improve the inflow of combustible waste from customers in Sweden and Europe to Sysav's energy facility. You will have the opportunity to move a business from opportunity to contract while having a central role with a lot of trust and room for action, in an organization with a strong sense of community where you can truly make a difference.

About the Position

We are currently developing our marketing department to meet future needs. In this role, you will be an important link between business and sustainable community development and part of an engaged team. You will work to create stability in waste deliveries from our international and Swedish customers while developing and improving our portfolio based on environmental, quality, and profitability criteria. The work is varied and both strategic and operational: one day you meet customers and discuss terms, quality, and opportunities, and the next day you collaborate internally to find the best solutions together.

As a business developer, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of our energy business and contribute to dialogues where business acumen, quality requirements, and regulations need to be balanced. At the same time, you will be part of a business-driven team that works together to develop flows, working methods, and business in close collaboration with several internal functions.

Responsibilities

Together with your colleagues, you will drive the business from the first contact to long-term customer relationships. We believe you thrive when you can combine business acumen, analytical skills, and collaboration.

  • Ensure the inflow of combustible waste to our energy facility from Swedish and European business customers
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers and participate in relevant networks
  • Develop contracts, negotiate prices, quality, and terms with customers
  • Optimize the fuel portfolio based on profitability, business risk, and quality, and collaborate within the company's supply chain team
  • Follow up on the business based on KPIs, forecasts, and budgets and share insights with your colleagues that help us move forward
  • Participate in the development of strategy, working methods, and digital tools
  • Conduct customer visits to assess environmental, quality, and handling needs when necessary

Suitable Background

Experience that we would like you to have:

  • Experience in business development, commercial work, and negotiation
  • Familiarity with working with contracts, price negotiations, and customer contacts
  • Understanding of industrial operations, production, and/or processes
  • Analytical skills and experience in setting and following up budgets and forecasts
  • Experience from the business sector in recycling, energy, or other international material and product flows is an advantage
  • Relevant academic education, e.g., business administration, engineering, or other equivalent background
  • Very good Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Good collaboration skills and enjoys building relationships externally with customers as well as internally with colleagues
  • Business-oriented, self-assured, and experienced in negotiation
  • Coordination/project management skills and enjoys getting things done
  • Analytical and structured with good documentation skills, while also being flexible and solution-oriented
  • Comfortable navigating situations where different perspectives meet
  • Appreciates the variation between strategic analysis and more operational work
  • Sees the big picture and can weigh business, quality, and sustainability together
