The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health and medical care, authority exercise, ordering services, and providing care and support in-house. We work with a focus on quality and professionalism to make each day as good as possible for the residents of Linköping who need us. Do you want to improve the everyday life, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!

Your tasks

As a substitute within support, care, and assistance, you have a meaningful job where you make a difference for various people!

You can work in elderly care, LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons), or social psychiatry. The work involves supporting individuals in their daily lives based on their needs and circumstances, with the goal of promoting their individual abilities and independence. Tasks include assisting with personal care such as dressing, showering, and toilet visits, as well as performing daily chores such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. You will also offer and support individuals in various activities and social interactions.

We are looking for you who want to work as a substitute during the spring, and we hope you can also work during the summer.

Even if you are only interested in working during the summer but can attend an introduction in the spring, you are welcome. During the summer period, weeks 25-32, you have the opportunity to work on a schedule either during the first period (weeks 25-28), the second period (weeks 29-32), or both periods. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. In some operations, there is a sleeping on-call duty, and in others, you may also work awake nights.

To ensure a safe start, you will receive an introduction where you shadow and are guided by experienced staff for about five shifts, as well as complete a digital introductory training.

Your workplace

We have over 100 different operations, and as a substitute with us, you can work in one of the following areas:

In elderly care, we support elderly individuals in their daily lives with the goal of strengthening their individual abilities. You can work in a nursing home where you, together with colleagues, assist individuals who live in the facility and need care and support around the clock. Some facilities have specializations such as dementia, somatics, or short-term care.

You can also work in home care, where you independently or together with a colleague visit individuals who remain in their homes but need support in their daily lives. During your shift, you will have shorter support interventions scheduled with several different individuals. The extent of the interventions varies and is adapted to each individual's unique needs.

Within LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons), we support adults and children with intellectual disabilities, diagnoses within the autism spectrum, acquired brain injuries, or other significant disabilities. There may be limited or no verbal communication, which means you need to work using clear pedagogical methods and communication aids. You can work in a group home, service housing, short-term homes for children and adults, leisure homes for children and youth with LSS decisions, as well as within escort and relief services.

In social psychiatry, we support individuals with mental or neuropsychiatric disabilities as well as individuals with substance abuse and social issues. You work to motivate clients towards an independent life and support individuals in creating structure and routines. There may be challenging behaviors, and you must be able to meet and handle difficult situations. You can work in a supported housing facility where you provide support to clients around the clock or within social psychiatry's youth services, where you support young adults in integrating into society and creating conditions for an independent life.

Who we are looking for

We consider education to be an advantage. It is a plus if you have started a high school education or have passing grades in SFI C. Education in health and care, child and leisure, or post-secondary studies in health and behavioral fields is particularly meritorious. Previous experience from work or internships within support, care, and assistance is also meritorious.

For work in social psychiatry and HVB homes, it is a requirement that you have a complete education from the health and care program or have completed at least 60 higher education credits in social work or health care. Alternatively, another complete high school education combined with at least one year of care experience is required.

You need to be at least 18 years old and able to perform personal care for both female and male clients. Since the work involves a lot of communication and documentation, you must have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish and have good computer skills.

In some operations, it may be necessary to be able to cycle, while others may require a driver's license. For some operations, it may also be an advantage to have access to your own car to get to and from the workplace.

We are looking for someone who works well with others and listens and communicates clearly. You are self-driven and have an empathetic ability to understand others' perspectives and situations.

Welcome to submit your application!
